We are facing an epidemic of pornography on the Internet of which the repercussions remain not fully understood. And it is frightening. With the click of a mouse, anyone, at any age, at any time can view porn online.

Governments are still tangled up by the “it’s a free-speech issue” argument. The porn industry has were able to hold onto the theory that porn is victimless entertainment which involves only an individual and the consenting adults who participate. The law has yet to meet up with reality sufficient reason for technology. In a global where anyone can produce and upload porn videos or images, the web has become filled to the brim with hardcore pornography and disturbing content that nobody should be exposed to, let alone our children!

A written report from the Witherspoon Institute in Princeton, N.J.,entitled, “The Social Costs of Pornography” points to new social science and brain research, and finds evidence that pornography causes multifaceted harms and warns that people will pay the price for this.

Porn is teaching negative behaviors and attitudes towards sexuality. Even though for adults this can be a big problem, for children which are seeing it, this can be a disaster that may impact their ability to have any sort of healthy sexual relationship if they grow up.

Children are curious, children share links by email, by chat, on smart phones… Really the only solution today is to use a porn filter on each computer that your child has access to. At home, friends, grandparents, school, the library, make certain a porn filter is installed on the computer. Demand it. It’s not going to go away if you ignore it.
